Can you first give us a short review about your band-history? What about the name of the band?

I started doing audio/visual experiments with basic equipment back in 1990, e.g. vcr’s connected to guitar amps connected to televisions connected to keyboards, etc. When I had an interesting configuration of different elements I would end up getting incredibly unusual sound while at the same time unknowingly destroying everything with dangerous power surges and cross connections. All of the experimentation led me to various styles of abstract techno industrial hybrids.

The name Subtronik came to me one day back in ‘98 and I’ve used it ever since.

How would you describe your music? What makes your music unique?

My music is a mixture of different genres I like such as dnb, breakbeat, electronica, and industrial. I tend not to stick with one style because it gets boring. My music is unique because theres a hidden message in everything I create.

Are you a studio-project or are you playing live as well? If you are playing live, where are the next gigs?

I only do studio work. I’m not interested in live performances.

Where have you heard of the possibility to promote your music via Creative Commons ?

They contacted me.

Creative Commons is a very good thing, but bands can´t earn any money this way. How do you solve this problem? Do you have Compact Discs for sale?

No discs for sale as of yet. I’ll be pressing something soon hopefully though..

Label/Netlabel:
What do you think about the meaning of big record companies in the age of internet? Is a netlabel the better way to distribute music? What are the advantages of netlabels?

I don’t have any opinions on ‘big record companies’. No idea. Don’t know..

The company trnd is working on trends – one trend for example are netlabels and music promoted under Creative Commons? What will become a trend in the near future in your opinion?

Musical futures will trend toward brain chips that will make every listener an artist.

What are you going to do next? Are there any new releases in the near future? Any other plans in the near future?

I’ll keep making music until I’m uninterested in it. I’ve got four new tracks in the works and am slowly completing them one at a time.

Anything else you would like to let our readers know?

I make ceramic cats on the side for extra money.
