Interview: Freezepop.
Sowohl auf der Compilation trndtunes als auch hier im Interview als Nummer zwei: Freezepop aus Boston, Massachusetts.

The Duke had the idea to start a synthpop band based around the Yamaha QY-70. He knew he wanted a female singer, and a mutual friend introduced us. And Sean and the Duke knew each ofther from the Boston music scene. We chose the name Freezepop since it’s cold and fruity and artificial.
Since then, we’ve released 2 full-length CDs and several EPs and records, and have toured throughout the U.S. and Europe. We’re currently working on a new album…

I’d call it fun electro-indie-pop. We’re pretty unique in that our music is a lot more poppy than most other electro bands, and more electro than most pop bands. It’s hip enough for hipsters, and nerdy enough for nerds.
Playing live is definitely important to us! We’re heading down to Texas in a few weeks, and we play in Boston pretty regularly. Hopefully next year we’ll be able to make it back to Europe.
We were contacted, and it sounded like a great idea to us..
Yes, we have CDs for sale, but since we’re on our own indie label, we don’t have many CDs in stores. Mostly, people order CDs and shirts directly from our website.
origin of the band: Boston, Massachusetts
year of publication: 2004
homepage of the band: freezepop.com
label/netlabel: the archenemy record company
So far, we’ve been able to do pretty well without a big record label. We’ve released our music on our own label, Archenemy. We’ve gotten great exposure from being featured in several video games. And the web is also a great way for us to promote ourselves, and stay in contact with our fans.
This is already happening on websites like MySpace, where small bands with no label or advertising budget, can build a huge following just by promoting themselves online. It’s great because the music industry is really messed up right now, and this takes some of the power away from the huge labels, and people can discover new music on their own.
A new album and then we’ll try to tour a bit more.
Just check out our website , we always have a lot of fun stuff up there…
